Early Lolla Rumors Don't Taste So Good

Last year three of us here at fork/knife drove out to Chicago [from our hometown in Connecticut] to go to Lollapalooza, and it was unbelievable. Since the seven of us had such a good time, the plan is to go again and have an even better time!

Besides being in the warm embrace of one another, a major factor of the awesomeness was the line-up. In three days we got to see Radiohead, Grizzly Bear, Rage Against the Machine, Wilco, The Black Keys, Explosions in the Sky and a plethora of other good bands. Unfortunately the rumors for this year's headliners are following below out relatively high standards. The Chicago Tribune published an article today that stated that Depeche Mode, Beastie Boys and Jane's Addiction are going to headline the 2009 version of Lolla. This is no good. I think we were hoping for something more along the lines of Daft Punk returning, or Justice crossing the big pond, or even Radiohead coming back (in which case I would Jizz In My Pants). All I can say that I hope either the Tribune is wrong, or else these bands better have a solid 15-20 great bands to back them up.
