New Bird

So, 2009 begins, and I am genuinely looking forward to the of releases that bands have planned for us. One of the January releases that I am really looking forward to is Andrew Bird's album Noble Beast. If you have ever had the privilege of witnessing this master at work during one of his mesmerizing shows than I know you, too, are excited. The first few minutes of all his live songs involves him running around his set-up looping soothing strings, wondrous whistling, precious pizzicato, and gorgeous guitar into, one cohesive unit. Once you see this it is impossible not to appreciate what he is able to do.

After his critically acclaimed 2007 album, Armchair Apocrypha, people have been wondering if he could follow it up with another, equally great album. Today I leave you with two songs off his new album that will be released January 20th so you can judge for yourself.
